A Sixteenth Century, Grade Two listed fishing inn, nestled in the heart of the traditional, unspoilt Devon village of Sheepwash.

A short walk from the Torridge River, our popular inn is surrounded by picturesque countryside and wildlife. At the Half Moon, we offer Bar facilities, Traditional Dining and a variety of Accommodation options, set in a friendly and cosy environment. We also cater for special events, private party bookings and weddings, upon request.
The Bar
You will always be given a warm welcome by Adam and the team in the bar. Our bar is open Monday to Saturday from 11.00 am to 11.00 pm and Sunday 12:00pm to 10:30pm, serving food in a friendly and cosy environment at lunchtimes and evenings.
The bar has been sympathetically renovated allowing additional table space and new products to be added to our comprehensive beverage offering.
Well behaved and clean pets are welcome in the bar area.
Accommodation
We have eighteen rooms here at the Half Moon, all of which are unique and offer a different experience, catering to the kind of stay you are looking for.
Rooms 1 to 9 are situated within the pub and let you experience the true character of the Inn.
Rooms 10 to 16 are a short walk across the courtyard from the pub in our annexe and shippen. These rooms offer a little more privacy and are all dog friendly.
Rooms 17 and onwards are our most luxurious suites offering the most comfortable and relaxing stay.
Our Team
Something that sets us apart here at the Half Moon, is our dedicated and close-knit team that keep everything running smoothly.
Some of our team members are long time employees, often regarded as part of the pub, and remembered by our repeat guests and visitors.
As the pub has grown we have expanded our team, but have always put an emphasis on looking for kind and sociable employees to make sure that everyone feels welcome and looked after when they step through the door.

As Sheepwash is a small village, our local community is hugely important to us, thats why we try hard to find ways to bring our community together, whether that is through our village BBQ’S, live music or even a quiet drink with the locals. We are always here for our community and we believe that this really adds to the welcoming and warm feel of our beautiful village and pub.
