At long last the weather pattern has changed with showers and longer periods of rain. The river is rising with a half bank spate on 14th and hopefully this will encourage both salmon and sea trout to enter the system and move upstream. On Tuesday 11th Sato caught a very fresh salmon at Beam of about 8lb and briefly made contact with another fish. Sea trout are now present on all the middle and lower beats.
During the first week of June the trout anglers enjoyed more good sport. On one day Mike Payne and his friend caught 27 upto 1lb: mostly on a dry fly.
